Makes your legs look nice... Oct 06, 2010
By Andy Current price on Amazon (about $40) is great, especially if it's possible to couple with free shipping. Even better if you live in a high sales tax state like Illinois and can avoid paying an additional 10%!
These 510 jeans fit snug, so you have to have the body.... but they look cool if you can pull it off. For a fit not quite as snug but still within the "skinny" realm, the Levi's 511 jeans may be better. In agreement with other reviews on these jeans, the length seems to be slightly longer (i.e. 32" is maybe 32.5") than other brands.

May be okay but Jan 05, 2010
By Steve Richardson These may well be okay but I have two complaints on the pair I ordered.
First is that "sidewalk" isn't the color of a sidewalk but rather the color of freshly poured cement, that is, about two shades darker than dry sidewalk, definitely darker than what's illustrated. I'd call it medium gray. That wasn't quite what I expected. Maybe they fade after a few washings.
Second is that I've been wearing only Levis for many years and the inseam sizes always ran true on the 517's and other series, but here, even allowing for some shrinkage, my 34x34's were more like 34x36's, so I had to return them to order a 34x32 which probably still will break noticeably over my shoes. In fairness that bunchy too-long look seems to be in, but had I worn this pair in stocking feet I would have been stepping constantly on the fabric.
I really hope they shrink 3-4 percent on washing because for being "super skinny," out of the box the pair I returned still seemed to have surprising looseness over my thighs, calves and rear, and I am slender but not built exactly like a toothpick. Just getting a smaller waist size wouldn't work unless I spent many afternoons at the gym.
Thirty years ago Levis made and later discontinued a light weight stretch jean that fit perfectly without being too tight, which would have looked gross then and now, or getting saggy after three wearings and sliding down an inch or so on my hips, the way the much heavier 517 boot cut stretch version of today does.

Great fit Oct 19, 2009
By J. Z. To start off, I'd like to point out that these are made in China, not Mexico as stated by another reviewed. I'm guessing the current stock has changed throughout the year. Anyway, these are great jeans. The fit leaves enough room to move without the painted on feel. Super Skinny is a very accurate description and certainly isn't for everyone. These are a great option for us skinny guys that aren't horrified by the term "super skinny". I love the 2% spandex to allow me to move around. The denim is very durable and feels like it will last a long time although both pairs that I ordered had threads pulling out of the seams. After cutting the stray threads I haven't had any issues.
Overall I give the jeans a 4 out of 5, but when considering the cost compared to some of the designer jeans out there, I think these deserve 5 stars.

good jeans Mar 10, 2009
By Sam J nice tight fit, the stretch is good, and I'll probably buy more pairs in the future. For the record (since some of us care about these things), these pants are Made in Mexico... Not China thankfully, but not the US either.
I like the fit better than my 511s for going out at night, the only problem is that I can't really wear high-top shoes with these 510s unless I want to tuck my pants into the shoes and look like I'm about to go to a loft party in Williamsburg.
I think they raised the price of these a few bucks since I bought them now that tighter pants are getting hotter and hotter.

great 510 jeans Sep 06, 2009
By D. Smith These jeans fit great and are very comfortable! The slight stretch in the denim makes them more comfortable than snug jeans used to be. Having athletic legs from nearly 100,000 miles of running and biking (mostly biking) I needed to order 32 inch waist instead of my normal 30 to get my legs to fit.
These jeans do not get blue all over everything like new jeans used to the first time they get wet. Just a little blue came out in the water. If you wash by hand or in shower they remain dark blue a long time. The slight fading that occurs over time comes from wearing, not washing.
They are not as heavy when wet as older jeans used to be, so combined with the snug fit would be ideal for activities where you might find yourself in the water and need to swim.
