Overall, it's a good product. The back pack is a little smaller than I expected, but I got used to it. The suitcase is fine for a 2-3 day trip. The backpack has external water bottle holders, which is a nice feature.

I want my money back Jun 06, 2010
I took this bag on an international trip the first time I used it. I am sitting in the airport looking at the seam which has ripped out and I still have another flight until I get home. It also falls forward when I put my laptop in the zip-off backpack. I spent $80.00 on this piece of trash. Oh - and It doesn't fit in the overheads in smaller aircraft unless you unzip the backpack. Then you have 2 pieces of carry-on which is the limit.

I recently purchased the High Sierra Carry-on Wheeled Backpack and it was exactly what I was looking for. The Removable Day Pack served as my personal bag and stowed nicely under my airline seat and the Wheeled Backpack stowed in the overhead compartment very nicely. It is the perfect size for travel. Its sturdy construction will make it a valuable item to have for quite sometime. Both bags have straps to use as backpacks.Excellent product at an excellent price!

Great Carry-On and more May 11, 2010
I have been travelling with this bag for about 5 years now and couldn't ask for a better bag. I'm a light traveller (about 4 to 6 flights a year) and find this bag to meet my every need. The main suitcase is well constructed and holds up to being either a carry-on or check in. The zipper is tough and sturdy and I really like that there are extra sturdy clasps in addition to the zipper to hold the bag shut if you should overstuff (which I've done). The handle on the bottom of the bag makes it easy to grab regardless of its position in the overhead luggage compartment on the plane or the baggage carousel. The telescoping handle on the top has taken much abuse and is still in like-new condition. I regularly pick a full bag up by this handle (probably shouldn't, but I do) and it stands up to my abuse. The wheels are what I'd expect from a good wheeled-bag and roll smoothly. This is what I typically fit into my bag along with my shaving kit (1 pr work shoes, 2 slacks, 1 jeans, 2 collared shirts, 1 sweater, 2 casual t shirts, running clothes, running shoes, underclothes). I have never used the backpack straps on the main bag so cannot comment on them other than they look comfortable and sturdy.

Now for the back pack that zips on.... well, I never use it as part of the set. I use this bag for the gym and never combine them as a luggage set, although It would probably be nice to do so. If High Sierra made a combo Carry-On with laptop backpack I think this set would be even better.

Let me just add that I am not gentle in any way with my luggage and this bag holds up to what I've thrown at it.

Perfect for 8 day trip to Italy. All clothes, toiletries, and electronics fit nicely. The backpack fits nicely in overhead and will slide under seat with day pack removed. I wore the backpack and hand carried the day pack and breezed passed the gate agent who was making all with wheeled carry-ons check their bags.
