1Wrong pants or wrong buyer?  Feb 06, 2008 By Nathan T. Peirce
These are odd sizes. For the right person these might be a nice pair of pants, but you are not the right person... are you?

Since the size on this item is listed in sizes like Small, Medium, and Large instead of numerical units like inches, you may think to yourself "My clothes are always size [Medium, for example], so it'll probably fit me." You'd be very lucky if it does. Firstly, these are very oddly-sized pants. But even if they weren't, here's what you're betting on:

XS 27-28"
S 29-31"
M 32-34"
L 36-38"
XL 40-42"
XXL 44-48"
XXXL 50-52"

Keep in mind that this chart isn't tailored for this brand (strike one), is just an estimate (strike two), and it's only the waist (strike three). Length adds another layer of possible error to the problem. The main point here is that there are 2 or 3 numeric sizes within each size like "Small" or "Medium". The odds that you'll get a pair of pants that fit you well out of guesswork like this are not good odds. Listen, guys, sizing like this may work for gloves and dresses, but not pants.

This size Small that I got might fit someone who is 5'10" and 130 lbs, I'd guess. If I were to get a medium then I suppose it would fit my waist better, but the small Small is already too long for me... and I'm not short!

Who would the Medium fit then? Maybe someone 145 lbs and 6 feet tall? That's crazy. Maybe it's just the size small that's oddly tall for it's waist, but do you want to bet your money on that?

Tip: When ordering an item in this price range that doesn't have a numeric size, check a seller's profile to see about their returns policy. Many unscrupulous sellers will have a $10 restocking fee and intentionally not list numeric sizes of odd-shaped clothing in this price range, even though the invoice and/or the item's tag has the size on it (so they could have specified the numeric size easily). They do this in the hopes that you will buy the item figuring that it will probably fit and that you can return it if it doesn't, but then when you go to return it you do the math and blame yourself and don't return it or even leave bad feedback/complain.

Here's the math: shipping on you sending it back to them + shipping on them sending a replacement to you + $10 for restocking = costs about as much or more than a new pair of pants!

5FAVORITE PANTS  Nov 10, 2006 By J. flynn "& HEATHER"
I bought these pants for my son, and he loves them. I got a pair in every color, and this is all he wears. they do not shrink, but we did find they run small in the waist. he is 13, and wears a 29" waist, and we had to get the mens medium. i thought the small would have fit, but it was a very fast exchange with the company. no problems at all. and they tie on the bottom, so the lenghth does not matter. will buy again!! very well made product!!! A+++++++++ THANKS!!

5Great pants. Sizing a little difficult  Jan 07, 2008 By Sharon M. Carlsen
I really like these pants. They were almost exactly what I was looking for. The only problem I had was the sizing chart was not accurate. Based on the chart I needed an XL, which I felt was too big but I ordered it anyway. I could have fit one and half of me in the XL. But I returned them with a request for a medium and they were resent quite quickly especially since it was right before Christmas. This pair fits just fine. I will be ordering the other pairs that I had selected.

4quality pants  Apr 21, 2011 By Andrew D. Dedmon "hundley88"
i purchased these pants in a size larger than i normally wear after reading the product review by nathan peirce. he had stated that the pants fit small and may not wear the way i wanted. two things were evident after taking the pants out of the box; they were of good quality and i ordered the wrong size. i normally wear a large. i purchased the xl and couldn't put them on without them falling off. i sent the originals back for the size i normally wear. purchase these pants in the size you normally wear. if they don't fit the way you want, amazon will refund your money and you can change sizes. my money was refunded and my new "lg" pants are on the way. amazon also provides the shipping cost to return the pants. they will even schedule a UPS pickup from your home. you will have to print the shipping info out from amazon.com and tape it to a shipping box. there is no restocking fee.

5X-Large  Sep 09, 2007 By B. Proctor
I am normally a size 40-42 waist and the X-Large fit perfectly! The legs were a little long but have ties to keep them from dragging. These pants kept me protected and cool on my hike in the Tennessee mountains in the middle of August! (Yeah, I know I'm crazy!)
